    Health Safety Environment Officer

    Job Summary:

    • We are seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Officer to support and promote a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, identify potential risks, and implement preventive measures across all operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards.
    • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
    • Organize safety drills, training, and awareness campaigns for employees.
    • Ensure all staff are properly trained in safety practices and emergency procedures.
    • Maintain accurate records of HSE metrics, inspections, incidents, and training.
    • Liaise with external bodies such as regulatory agencies, safety consultants, and emergency responders.
    • Support project planning with input on HSE considerations.
    • Promote a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or HND in Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety Management, or related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in HSE role.
    • Certified in HSE Levels 1, 2 & 3 or NEBOSH, IOSH.
    • Sound knowledge of relevant safety legislation, codes, and practices.
    • Strong observational and analytical skills.
    • Ability to lead safety briefings and train staff effectively.
    • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office and safety reporting tools.
