Role Summary:

As a Health Educator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health education programs and initiatives aimed at promoting healthy behaviors and preventing disease in the community. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and government agencies to address health disparities and improve overall health outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess community health needs and develop health education programs and materials to address priority areas.
• Conduct outreach activities and workshops to educate individuals and groups about health topics such as nutrition, physical activity, chronic disease management, and preventive care.
• Collaborate with schools, workplaces, and community organizations to implement health promotion initiatives and campaigns.
• Provide individualized health coaching and counseling to support behavior change and adherence to healthy lifestyle practices.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of health education programs and interventions through data collection and analysis.
• Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote health equity and address social determinants of health.
• Stay updated on the latest research and trends in public health and health education.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Education, or related field.
• Certification as a Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
• Proven experience working as a Health Educator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of health behavior theories, health promotion strategies, and evidence-based practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community stakeholders.
• Passion for promoting health and wellness in the community.
