Head, Structured Finance at Proten

Job Objective:

• To support clients in securing optimal financing solutions for their projects by providing indepth financial analysis, structuring advice, and strategic recommendations. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Business Development 

• Develop and execute the overall strategy for the Structured Finance, identifying new market opportunities, and revenue streams tailored to Nigerian and African markets. 
• Drive business growth through client acquisition, relationship management, and expansion into emerging sectors.

Financial Analysis & Modelling

•  Lead the development, updating, and maintenance of detailed financial models for debt structuring, project finance, and valuation. 
•  Oversee sensitivity analysis, scenario planning, and risk assessment to evaluate financing structures and terms. 
• Conduct comprehensive financial due diligence, market research, and benchmarking to assess project viability.

Debt Structuring & Advisory 

• Drive the structuring of optimal debt solutions and capital-raising strategies, including private debt, term loans, and syndicated finance.
• Lead negotiations with lenders and stakeholders to secure favorable financing terms for clients. 
• Supervise the preparation of term sheets, presentations, and documentation for debt advisory and financing proposals.

Market and Industry Research

• Conduct in-depth market and industry research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in project finance and debt markets. 
• Monitor economic indicators, financial markets, and industry developments to provide insights for client projects and financing strategies.

Compliance and Risk Management 

• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management frameworks. 
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to maintain accurate documentation and ensure due diligence standards are met 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field with a minimum of 2:1
• MBA or MSC is an added advantage
• At least 7 years of experience in financial analysis, financial planning, or a related role in the investment banking sector or corporate banking sector
• CFA, ACCA, ACA or other relevant certifications
