Head, Retail Banking at Maurice Xandra Solutions

Our client, a leading microfinance bank in Lagos, is seeking an experienced Head, Retail Banking to drive customer acquisition, deposit growth, retail lending, and digital banking adoption. The ideal candidate will lead strategies to expand the bank’s retail customer base, strengthen customer relationships, increase product adoption, and drive sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute retail banking strategies to drive customer acquisition, retention, and profitability.
• Drive deposit mobilisation, loan disbursements, payments, and transaction growth.
• Lead the development and adoption of innovative retail banking products and digital solutions.
• Strengthen customer engagement, loyalty, and cross-selling across retail products.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand the bank’s retail market presence.
• Monitor business performance, manage retail banking risks, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead and develop high-performing teams to achieve business targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• 10–12 years of retail banking experience, including at least five years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in customer acquisition, deposit mobilisation, and digital banking growth.
• Strong understanding of consumer lending, credit analysis, and retail risk management.
• Experience with digital banking platforms and fintech solutions.
• Excellent leadership, sales, strategic planning, and relationship management skills.
• An MBA or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.
