Key Responsibilities
Oversee social video planning and strategy execution, ensuring that complex topics are broken down into a variety of formats that readers will want to watch and share.
Ensure videos produced for all Pulse web, mobile and social pages are highly engaging, monetizable, and are consistent with brand guidelines, fit for purpose, targeted and compelling for maximum impact.
Coordinate daily operations of the social video team, overseeing pre-production, production and post production activities - ensure videos are delivered within agreed timelines.
Overall responsibility for quality control - including proofreading and cross-checking facts, spelling, grammar, writing style, design pages, photos, images, sound, colour, etc.
Overall responsibility for securing appropriate rights, licenses and clearances for video, image and soundtrack usage.
Produce weekly traffic and other performance reports and actively identify and implement strategies to increase the viewership and reach of Pulse.
Handle briefs for client videos, develop and pitch creative ideas and concepts, choosing the appropriate media and style to meet objectives.
Ensure that for all clients, strategic brand and business objectives set forth in campaigns are met and exceeded.
Ensure proper organisation and safekeeping of video footage and logs.
Assist with or assign team members for event coverage as required.
Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly video and design programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3ds Max, After Effects and other programs from the Adobe Creative Suite and others in order to deliver cutting edge work.
Encourage a work environment of continuous improvement by leading and organising team learning sessions and knowledge sharing on an ongoing basis.
Cultivate innovation in the team, encouraging a steady flow of new ideas.
Communicate effectively with all team members and maintain strong, trusting relationships with all internal collaborators.
Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Media Studies, Digital Media, Marketing, or a related field is typically required.
5+ years of experience in social video production and management, with a strong portfolio.
A master's degree or specialized certifications in digital media, video production, or related areas can be an advantage.
Experience in handling client relationships, understanding client objectives, and translating them into effective video content strategies.
Proficiency in video production processes, including scriptwriting, storyboarding, filming, editing, and post-production.
Ability to develop and implement strategic plans for social video content, considering audience demographics, platform algorithms, and brand objectives.
Strong leadership skills
Deep understanding of digital content trends and best practices, with the ability to optimize video content for various platforms to maximize reach and engagement.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges related to video production, content distribution, and audience engagement.
