Inventory Officer at The Label Store

Location: Kilo, Surulere, Lagos
Salary: ₦130,000 – ₦150,000 Monthly

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Inventory Officer to manage and monitor the company’s stock levels, inventory records, stock movements, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate should be able to maintain accurate inventory records, identify discrepancies, and ensure that stock is properly received, stored, issued, and accounted for.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and maintain accurate records of all stock received, transferred, issued, and sold.
• Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile physical stock with system records.
• Receive and verify goods delivered to the company against invoices, delivery notes, and purchase orders.
• Inspect received goods for quantity, quality, damages, and expiry dates where applicable.
• Ensure proper arrangement, labelling, and storage of goods to facilitate easy identification and stock control.
• Monitor stock levels and promptly report low-stock, excess-stock, damaged, expired, or slow-moving items.
• Investigate and report inventory discrepancies, shortages, and variances.
• Maintain accurate records of stock transfers between branches, departments, and storage areas.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management.
• Monitor stock movement and ensure that all stock issued or transferred is properly documented.
• Work closely with the Accounts, Procurement, Sales, and Store teams to ensure proper inventory control.
• Assist in periodic stock-taking exercises and ensure proper documentation of stock counts.
• Monitor products approaching expiry and ensure appropriate action is taken to minimise losses.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s inventory control procedures and policies.
• Perform other inventory-related duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of B.Sc., HND, or OND in Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Previous experience in inventory management, stock control, warehousing, or a similar role.
• Good knowledge of stock management and inventory control procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory/accounting software.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to identify and investigate stock discrepancies.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Previous experience in a supermarket, retail, FMCG, or similar business environment will be an added advantage.
