Head of Operations at The HR Hub Nigeria

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Operations to oversee and optimize our entire production facility, supply chain, and logistics ecosystem.
• The ideal candidate will lead the manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and warehouse teams, with primary objective to drive operational excellence, reduce manufacturing costs, maintain strict safety/quality standards, and ensure the seamless delivery of products to our market.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute operational strategies, budgets, and production schedules aligned with overall business growth objectives.
• Plant & Production Management: Oversee daily factory operations to ensure maximum yield, optimal capacity utilization, and minimal downtime.
• Supply Chain & Logistics: Lead the end-to-end supply chain, including raw material procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and nationwide distribution.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the HSE, Quality Assurance (QA/QC), and Sales teams to guarantee compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, ISO) while meeting market demand.
• Cost & Waste Optimization: Identify operational bottlenecks and implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to minimize waste and reduce production costs.
• Capex & Maintenance: Oversee facility maintenance and manage Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects for plant expansions, machinery upgrades, and automation.
• Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical), Food Science, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration. An MBA or relevant Master's degree is highly preferred.
• 5–10+ years of progressive operational management experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Plant Manager, Operations Manager) within a food, beverage, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing automated systems, supply chain logistics, Lean/Six Sigma principles, and food safety regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional executive leadership, financial acumen (P&L management), problem-solving, and crisis-management capabilities.
