Head of Legal and Compliance at Hazon Holdings

RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Lead the legal and compliance functions in Nigeria.
• Support the management team with strategic decision making on products, operations, commercial and other related areas.
• Lead our corporate governance efforts and manage our secretariat.
• Manage relationships with external regulators and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Ensure our corporate, IP, compliance, data protection, KYC/AML, commercial and litigation risks are identified and managed.
• Oversight of our compliance infrastructure including our strategy and roadmap, policies and procedures, monitoring plan.
• Manage our relationships with legal advisers, and ensure our legal spend is optimised.
• Develop best practices and training to help the business manage risks and drive the implementation of improved processes to help us scale.

QUALIFICATION

•  Minimum of 10 years working years’ experience with a minimum of 12 months in the Financial Services Industry/Fintech Space.
• LLB.
• CAMS, ICSA or any other relevant qualification is an added advantage.
• You are very familiar with the regulations relevant to the financial services space and have worked with regulators.
• You are a great collaborator. You know that start-ups are a team sport. You listen to others, speak your mind, and ask the right questions.
