    Head of Human Resources

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies, policies, and programs that support the company's business goals, including talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and employee engagement. 
    • Trade Union Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for trade unions, including the NJIC and the National Union of Chemical, Footwear, Rubber, Leather, and Non-Metallic Employees. Lead negotiations, manage collective bargaining agreements, and ensure effective communication and collaboration.
    • Employee Relations: Foster a positive and productive work environment by developing and implementing effective employee relations strategies, addressing grievances, and ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
    • Board Presentations: Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and insightful presentations on HR-related matters to the board of directors, providing updates on key HR metrics, initiatives, and potential risks or opportunities.
    • Talent Acquisition and Management: Oversee the recruitment and selection process to attract and retain top talent within the manufacturing industry. Implement effective performance management systems to drive employee development and productivity.
    • Compensation and Benefits: Manage the company's compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, equitable, and aligned with industry standards and legal requirements.
    • Learning and Development: Develop and implement learning and development initiatives to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and capabilities, supporting individual and organizational growth.
    • HR Compliance: Ensure the company's HR practices and policies comply with all relevant labor laws and regulations in Nigeria.
    • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with employees at all levels, management, and external stakeholders.
    • HR Budget Management: Develop and manage the HR department's budget effectively.
    • Hybrid Work Management: Oversee and support the implementation and management of the company's hybrid work model in Lagos.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPM) will be an added advantage. 
    • Minimum of 12 years of progressive HR experience, with a significant portion of that experience gained within the manufacturing industry and 2 years at the senior management level.
    • Proven track record of successfully working with trade unions, specifically the National Joint Industrial Council (NJIC) and the National Union of Chemical, Footwear, Rubber, Leather, and Non-Metallic Employees.
    • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing collective bargaining negotiations.
    • Strong understanding of Nigerian labor laws and regulations.
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to executive leadership and the board of directors.
    • Deep knowledge of strategic HR principles and practices.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 
    • Must be based in Lagos or willing to relocate.
