About the Company

Windek Fisheries is a reputable fish importation and sales company engaged in the import, cold storage, distribution, and retail of frozen fish products. We are seeking a commercially minded Finance and Accounts Manager to oversee financial operations, manage import-related costs, and ensure profitability across all sales channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and financial activities related to fish importation, cold storage, and sales operations.
• Track and manage import-related costs including foreign exchange, customs duties, shipping, clearing, haulage, and port charges.
• Monitor inventory valuation for imported frozen fish across cold rooms, warehouses, and sales outlets.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow statements, and profitability reports.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collections from distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of sales (cash and credit), POS, bank accounts, and inventory movement.
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory obligations (VAT, WHT, PAYE, customs documentation, and statutory filings).
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for import cycles and sales operations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and implement control measures to reduce losses and leakages.
• Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies, margin control, and expansion decisions.
• Supervise and develop the finance and accounts team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, ICAN,  CPA, or equivalent) is required.
• Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience, preferably in importation, FMCG, trading, or food distribution.
• Strong understanding of import finance, forex exposure, inventory management, and cost accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, transaction-heavy environment.
