Head of Accounts at Novo Health Africa

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Head of Accounts to lead the finance and accounts function of our organization.
• The ideal candidate will oversee financial reporting, ensure statutory compliance, manage receivables and payables, and provide strategic financial guidance to support sustainable growth and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and financial operations of the organization
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, including provider payments and reconciliations
• Ensure full compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements (FIRS, NHIA, etc.)
• Coordinate internal and external audits and facilitate audit processes
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
• Supervise and mentor the accounts team, ensuring high performance and accountability
• Implement and strengthen internal controls and financial policies
• Liaise with banks, auditors, regulators, and other financial stakeholders
• Provide financial insights to management to support decision-making

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is mandatory
• Minimum of 5–8 years relevant accounting experience, preferably in an HMO, insurance, or healthcare sector
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations
• Proven leadership and team management experience
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
