    Head of Accounts & Finance

    Department: Accounts & Finance
    Reports To: Managing Director
    Direct Reports: Sales Support, Clerk
    Duration: Continuous

    Job Purpose

    • The Head of Accounts/Finance will be responsible for planning Adeeva Insurance financial strategy, protecting the company’s revenues and profits so as to achieve full and sustainable growth.

    Job Duties

    • Preparation and Presentation of Company Annual Reports & Accounts.
    • Preparation of Premium Remittance to the Underwriters.
    • Preparation of Commission Remittance to Co-Brokers
    • Preparation of Monthly, Quarterly, Bi-Annual and Annual Reports to NAICOM. Attending to Regulatory issues viz; NAICOM, FIRS, SBIR, PENCOM, ITF, NSITF etc. for compliance
    • Supervising Monthly Filling and Annual Return to NAICOM, FIRS, LIRS, PENCOM, ITF and NSITF, etc
    • Ensuring that all Bank accounts are maintained as instructed by the regulators. i.e Client & Commission Account.
    • Keep the MD abreast of the organisation's financial status.
    • Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions (i.e. disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
    • Report periodically to the MD and regulatory authorities in line with relevant contractual framework and timelines
    • Maintain financial security and confidentiality by following internal control procedure(s).
    • Assist with payroll system and payroll-related items.
    • Ensure computation, preparation, payment, and filing of taxes accurately.
    • Ensure statutory compliance with Federal and State financial laws and regulations by studying existing and new legislation, adhering to requirements, and advising the MD when required.
    • Assist with administrative functions to ensure efficient and consistent operations within the organization.

    Person Specification & Additional Requirements

    • M.Sc / MBA / Professional Qualification in ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Audit, Finance, or Accounting.
    • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and financial modeling.
    • Must be very tech-savvy.
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office tools
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and people management skills are compulsory
    • Ability to use sound judgment.
