    General Manager

    Description

    • The General Manager (GM) will oversee the company’s overall operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth.
    • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of senior leadership experience within the consumer goods and distribution sector, with a demonstrable track record of delivering business growth, operational excellence, and effective multi-functional management.
    • This individual must be a decisive leader with strong commercial acumen, the ability to manage complex regulatory environments, and the vision to guide the company’s continued success in a competitive marketplace.

    Key Responsibilities
    Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and execute short- and long-term business strategies in alignment with company goals.
    • Identify growth opportunities in emerging markets, product lines, and distribution channels.
    • Foster a high-performance culture and champion innovation and customer service excellence.

    Operational Management:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations across sales, distribution, logistics, and warehousing.
    • Ensure the company operates within all legal and regulatory frameworks related to importation and distribution of our products.
    • Optimise supply chain and inventory management to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery.

    Sales & Marketing:

    • Drive revenue growth by leading sales strategies, pricing models, and promotional activities.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, retailers, wholesalers, and key accounts.
    • Analyse market trends and consumer behaviour to guide product and territory expansion.

    Financial Management:

    • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics.
    • Ensure financial targets are met and take corrective action where necessary.
    • Monitor and improve margins, cost structures, and return on investment.

    Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team.
    • Promote cross-functional collaboration and ensure alignment of departmental goals.
    • Implement training programs to enhance employee skills and retention.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
    • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience, ideally within consumer goods, alcohol distribution, or a related industry.
    • Demonstrated success in managing multi-functional teams and scaling operations.
    • Strong understanding of alcohol regulatory requirements, licensing, and compliance at federal and state levels.
    • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans and drive P&L results.
    • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Experience with ERP systems and data analytics tools is a plus.

    Requirements:

    • Prior leadership in a CPG or beverage/alcohol distribution environment.
    • Track record of expanding distribution networks and entering new markets.
    • Familiarity with on-premises and off-premises sales environments
