    Food Runner

    Our client is a luxury 5-star Restaurant located in Abuja, with years of experience in the hospitality industry in Nigeria. They currently have an opening for Food Runner(x8) to be based in Abuja.

    Candidates will be required to act as a liaison between the line and service staff. Responsible for expediting all orders in a timely manner ensuring order accuracy. Transport food from kitchen to dining room, as needed, to provide quality service. Consistently display  quality and professional Service at all opportunities to provide excellent service.

    Requirements

    • Experience working in a 5-star Restaurant/ Hotel is most necessary.
    • Candidates should have worked in a similar role for about 2-4 years.
    • Be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop.
    • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
    • Strong communication and listening skills.
    • Pleasant, polite manner, and a neat and clean appearance.
    • Highly motivated, organized and reliable.
    • Positive, professional, personable and adaptable.
    • Highly motivated, professional and energetic.

    Description

    • Have an understanding of all menu items and how each item is properly served and/or packaged.
    • Prepare runner station at “the pass” including preparation of condiments, stocking of dishes, flatware and towels.
    • Deliver food to guests and describe each dish.
    • Remove used tableware between courses and replace.
    • Communicate fire times to chefs and sous chefs.
    • Respond appropriately to guest requests.
    • Communicate ordered items to serving staff.
    • Assist in polishing and restocking tableware, especially during peak periods.
    • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager.
    • Maintain a basic understanding of the proper steps of service required of all Front Of House service positions.
    • Demonstrate a warm and welcoming demeanour when interacting with guests and co-workers.
