Financial Controller at George Houston Resources Limited

JOB DUTIES / DESCRIPTION

• Manage all accounting operations including but not limited to Cost Accounting, Treasury, Inventory Accounting, Revenue Recognition etc.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and support month-end and year-end close process.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Financial Systems and technology. Ensure quality control over financial transactions/reporting leading to efficient financial processes and data integrity.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Team leadership and mentorship. Provide mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. 
• Serves as a business partner and member of the organization strategic team and also in other roles as assigned by the board of directors

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. 
• Professional certifications (ICAN, ACCA etc.) is a must.
• Must not be below 45 years of age at the point of applying.
• 15+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
