Field Engineer at Inq

Principal Accountabilities/Objectives :

Network & Service Operations

• Install and configure network equipment at customer sites and POPs.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wireless and fiber networks.
• Respond to fault tickets raised by the CSOC/NOC, ensuring timely resolution and root cause documentation.

Deployment & Support

• Conduct technical site surveys, feasibility assessments, and customer link activations.
• Provide on-site support for service delivery and equipment troubleshooting.
• Execute hardware replacements, software upgrades, and patch management on deployed devices.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed documentation of installations, fault resolutions, and maintenance activities.
• Submit timely reports including visit logs, timesheets, and expense reports in line with internal standards.

Vendor & Customer Engagement

• Work with infrastructure providers (tower/fiber vendors) and contractors during deployment or repairs.
• Interface with customers professionally to provide status updates and technical explanations.

Quality Assurance & Safety

• Perform technical quality checks on all installations and support activities.
• Ensure compliance with HSE guidelines and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all fieldwork.
• Communications and Work Relationships :

Internal Relationships:

• Head, Operations– direct line reporting.
• NOC, CSOC, Engineering, and Service Delivery teams – for incident resolution and implementation alignment.

External Relationships:

• Customers – to coordinate deployments, provide updates, and resolve issues.
• Vendors and Field Contractors – for infrastructure support and quality assurance.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in telecom field engineering, preferably in ISP or service provider environments.
• Practical knowledge of microwave, fiber, BTS, and access networks.
• Familiarity with IP networking concepts and troubleshooting tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in using networking tools and RF alignment equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical diagrams and infrastructure layouts.
• Good communication and customer service orientation.
• Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed.
