Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled Fiber Technician with experience in the telecommunications industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fiber optic networks. 
• The role requires expertise in fiber splicing, testing, and working with network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity for customers.

Job Responsibilities

• Install, splice, terminate, and maintain fiber optic cables in underground, aerial, and inside plant environments.
• Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on fiber networks to resolve connectivity issues.
• Perform fiber testing using OTDR, power meters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Ensure proper fiber optic cable management and adherence to industry standards.
• Collaborate with network engineers and field teams to optimize fiber network performance.
• Conduct site surveys and provide technical recommendations for network expansion or upgrades.
• Document installation, maintenance, and repair activities in line with company policies.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while working on-site.
• Install and maintain network infrastructure within the region, ensuring optimal coverage and performance.
• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for clients experiencing connectivity issues.
• Collaborate with the Sales and CSS teams to ensure customer issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
• Perform regular maintenance checks and upgrades to minimize downtime and ensure service reliability.
• Implement system upgrades and expansions as needed, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Fiber Technician in the telecommunications industry.
• OND, HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Proficiency in fiber splicing, termination, and testing techniques.
• Hands-on experience with OTDR, optical power meters, and fusion splicers.
• Strong understanding of fiber network infrastructure and troubleshooting methods.
• At least a certification in CFOT is an added advantage.
