Farm Manager at Green Space Farms (GSF)

We are recruiting for an experienced Agronomist who can manage a 50 acres of Plantain / Banana Plantation around Epe (Ogun state).

Job Title:  Plantain Field Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

The position will be responsible for managing a new Plantain field, from strategic planning through to implementation; Geological surveys, layout of farm production process and providing professional advice to the management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate planting, irrigation, fertilizer application, harvesting, grading, and recordkeeping
• Manage suckers selection and transplanting, crop yield, and nutritional requirement through the life cycle of plants; and solve problems of the farm.
• Managing relationship between the farm and Technical consultants, field staff and suppliers.
• Train and provide orientation to farm attendants and casual labour.
• Work with Farm Accountant to ensure accurate budgeting proper documentation of Farm Expenses and
• Maintaining and monitoring the quality of crop yield
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned

REQUIREMENT

Qualifications:   OND/ HND / B.Sc in relevant Field

Experience:             

• 4+ years of work experience, with at least 3 years of experience in Managing Plantain/ Banana Field
• Commercial farming management experience
• Experience in irrigation management
• Good interpersonal and leadership skills
• Good hands-on computer skills using (using Ms-Excel and Word)

Harvest Target Bonus/ Incentive: N 500,000

Salary Range:  N 1,200,000 – N 2,500,000
