    Fabrication and Machine Shop Manager

    Operations Management

    • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily fabrication and machining activities.
    • Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
    • Review job orders and allocate tasks to technicians, welders, machinists, and fabricators.
    • Monitor work progress to ensure projects are completed according to specifications and deadlines.
    • Maintain strict adherence to engineering drawings, standards, and quality expectations.

    Machine and Equipment Management

    • Oversee proper operation, maintenance, and servicing of machine shop and fabrication equipment (lathes, milling machines, welding machines, cutting tools, presses, etc.).
    • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
    • Ensure minimal downtime and maximum equipment efficiency.
    • Maintain an updated logbook for all machines and tools.

    Team Leadership and Supervision

    • Provide leadership and supervision to fabricators, welders, machinists, fitters, and apprentices.
    • Conduct daily toolbox meetings and assign tasks.
    • Coach, train, and develop technical staff to improve skill sets and productivity.
    • Enforce discipline and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

    Quality Assurance and Technical Control

    • Ensure all fabricated and machined components meet engineering specifications and quality standards.
    • Conduct inspection of finished products before approval.
    • Work with the Quality Control team to address non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
    • Maintain high standards of workmanship and accuracy.

    Safety and Conpliance

    • Enforce strict compliance with HSE regulations and safe working procedures.
    • Ensure proper use of PPE and maintain a safe working environment.
    • Conduct safety awareness, training, and hazard identification activities.
    • Ensure cleanliness and proper housekeeping within the shop area.

    Inventory and Material Management

    • Monitor and control usage of consumables, welding rods, gases, and machining materials.
    • Request raw materials and consumables based on job requirements.
    • Maintain proper stock levels for critical tools and consumables.
    • Prevent material wastage and ensure cost control.
