    Experienced Tax Consultant

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Consultant to provide professional tax advisory, compliance, and planning services.
    • The successful candidate will support clients and internal stakeholders by ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations while identifying opportunities for tax efficiency and risk management.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare, review, and file tax returns (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, EDT, etc.) in line with applicable tax laws and deadlines.
    • Provide tax advisory services on transactions, restructuring, and day-to-day operations.
    • Ensure clients’ compliance with federal and state tax regulations and filing requirements.
    • Liaise with tax authorities (NRS, State IRS, and other agencies) on tax audits, investigations, and reconciliations.
    • Review tax computations, assessments, and correspondence from tax authorities.
    • Support tax audits, objections, and dispute resolution processes.
    • Identify tax risks and provide practical recommendations to mitigate exposure.
    • Keep up to date with changes in tax laws, regulations, and relevant circulars.
    • Prepare tax reports, opinions, and advisory memoranda for management and clients.
    • Assist in training junior staff and reviewing their work where required.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant tax consulting or tax compliance experience.
    • Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, CITN, or equivalent is highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulations (CITA, PITA, VAT Act, WHT, etc.).
    • Experience dealing with FIRS and State Internal Revenue Services.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); knowledge of tax software is an advantage.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
    • Excellent communication and client-management skills.
    • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
