    Experienced School Receptionist

    Job Description

    • We are a prestigious school dedicated to academic excellence and holistic development of our pupils. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled, effective, and proficient Receptionist with an effervescent personality – someone who is naturally happy, involved, and articulate – to join our dynamic nursery and primary school.
    • Our expectations are very high, and we are unapologetically focused on excellent oral and written communication within our school community.
    • As our receptionist, you will be the first point of call for visitors to the school, parents, staff and children.
    • As the ‘face’ of the school, you will be welcoming, personable, and helpful; being able to represent us in a professional and friendly manner.
    • In addition, it is essential that you are organised, be able to multi-task, work flexibly and have a ‘can do’ approach to work, as no two days are the same.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as the first point of contact for parents, staff, and visitors, ensuring a warm and professional welcome.
    • Manage front desk operations efficiently in a fast-paced school environment.
    • Handle phone calls and interactions with utmost professionalism and accuracy.
    • Respond to phone and walk-in school enquiries, ensuring timely and helpful assistance.
    • Maintain organised and detailed records, ensuring smooth administrative processes.
    • Take initiative in problem-solving and supporting the school’s operational needs.
    • Diary management and coordination of appointments, meetings, and school events effectively
    • Ensuring that all after school enrichment programmes are running smoothly and in line with safeguarding procedures
    • Processing medication and incident report forms in collaboration with the welfare officer
    • Participating in school meetings, parent information day, parent-teacher conferences and open houses
    • Provide lesson coverage during teacher absences to maintain instructional continuity and pupil engagement
    • Actively involved in examination administration and collation of reports
    • Actively involved in public relations and marketing activities.

    Requirements

    • Must live within commuting distance of Jericho, Ibadan
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or Management
    • A minimum of 3 years sustained post-graduation experience in administration within an educational environment.
    • Proven experience as a receptionist or administrative professional in a high-standard organisation; preferably a school.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and ability to multitask.
    • A proactive problem-solver who is resourceful, positive, and enthusiastic.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, professional approach.
    • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and administrative tools
    • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team in a demanding and high-expectation environment.
    • Naturally effervescent personality that reflects a happy, involved, and articulate nature
    • Ability to cope with periods of pressure and meet deadlines
    • A high level of professionalism and a smart appearance.
