JOB DESCRIPTION

• An Event Planner will Provide clerical/ administrative support to conference and Events Manager while coordinating and disbursing information relating to events, conference and event services to guest and operations.

What will I be doing?

• As an Event Planner, you will maximise revenue opportunities in the areas of group reservations, conferences and events by driving sales leads and increasing conversions. The Event Planner will interact frequently with Guests and customers with the intention of earning repeat and expanded business. Specifically, a Group, Conference, and Events.
• Event Planner will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
• Event planning, design and production within time limits Working with clients to identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction
• Event planning, design and production while managing all project delivery elements within time limits
• Liaise with clients to identify their needs and to ensure customer satisfaction
• Conduct market research, gather information and negotiate contracts prior to closing any deals
• Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations
• Provide feedback and periodic reports to stakeholders
• Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality
• Organize facilities and manage all event’s details such as decor, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc.
• Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations
• Cooperate with marketing and PR to promote and publicize event
• Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day
• Conduct pre- and post – event evaluations and report on outcomes
• Data entry using Delphi, OnQ R&I, Microsoft word and Excel.
• Research market, identify event opportunities and generate interest

• A creative mind and a flair for entertainment to create exciting events
• Minimum of BS.c or HND in Social Sciences or related courses.
• Proven experience as an Events Planner or Organizer
• Impressive portfolio of previously managed events (weddings, meetings, parties, corporate events)
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in related field.
• Proven commercial acumen.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
• Ability to demonstrate negotiation and influencing skills.
• Effective management skills.
• It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
• Ability to manage conflict effectively.
• Ability to read and analyse data.
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
