    Enumeration & New Connections Officer

    Purpose of the Job

    • Responsible for managing customer enumeration activities and facilitating new service connections, onboarding new customers and all back-office support activities in the department

    Key Duties and Responsibilities
    The Enumeration and New Connections Officer shall therefore be responsible, but not limited, for the following:

    • Conduct comprehensive enumeration exercises to identify and document all customers within the designated service area
    • Maintain and update customer databases to ensure accuracy and completeness of information
    • Process applications for new service connections, ensuring all required documentation and payments are received
    • Coordinate with technical teams to schedule and execute the installation of new connections promptly
    • Ensure all enumeration and connection activities adhere to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) guidelines and the Distribution Code
    • Collaborate with relevant departments to analyze enumeration data for strategic planning and decision-making
    • Collate information on customers application and prepare status report
    • Ensure resolution of complaints arising from new connections
    • Perform technical feasibility check, customer verification
    • Provide feedback and update details from customer premises visit
    • Educate potential and dormant customers about the connection process, service offerings, and billing procedures
    • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to enumeration and new connections
    • Identify and report instances of unauthorized connections or energy theft
    • Collaborate with the Revenue Protection Unit to implement measures that safeguard the company's revenue
    • Prepare periodic report for the attention of the Lead, Project and Planning
    • Carry out any other duties as requested by the Lead, Project and Planning

    Requirements
    Minimum Educational & Professional Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

    • First Degree (BSc, B.Engr., HND) in Electrical Engineering, or a related field
    • Must have 0-3 years of relevant experience
    • Professional certification in customer service or project management is an advantage

    Attributes and Competencies:

    • Knowledge of electricity regulations and policies
    • Proficiency in data gathering and analysis
    • Knowledge of electric power and distribution network
    • Knowledge of the AMI platform
    • Proficiency in using customer management and billing systems
