Responsibilities

• Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula based on prescribed novels, poetry, and additional resources.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create effective teaching strategies and interventions.
• Prepare students for assessments, exams, and formal evaluations.
• Grade tests, and assignments, and communicate performance updates to students, parents, and counselors.
• Organize literary events, guest speaker sessions, and field trips.
• Incorporate current events into lessons to make learning relevant and engaging.
• Ensure compliance with curriculum standards and school policies.
• Provide extra support to struggling students and extend challenges to high achievers.
• Leverage technology to enhance lesson delivery and maintain records.
• Participate in professional development, networking, and workshops.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English Education or a related field (MSc is a plus).
• 4 years of relevant experience
• TRCN certification is required.
• Experience teaching and preparing students for exam classes (WAEC, IGCSE, etc.).
• Strong classroom management skills and experience with school procedures.
• Deep understanding of subject-specific curriculum and assessments.
• Up-to-date with modern teaching methodologies in English instruction.
• Proficient in using technology and digital tools for teaching.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
