English Teacher at Charryville Academy

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons in accordance with the curriculum.
• Develop students' reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
• Assess and evaluate students’ progress through tests, assignments, and exams.
• Encourage critical thinking and creativity in literary analysis and language use.
• Create an inclusive and interactive classroom environment that supports all learners.
• Collaborate with other teachers and school administrators to enhance learning outcomes.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate progress to parents.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education, or a related field.
• Teaching certification (TRCN is an advantage).
• Minimum of 1-3 years teaching experience in a structured school environment.
• Strong knowledge of grammar, literature, and creative writing.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to engage and inspire students of varying academic levels.
• Proficiency in lesson planning, student assessment, and curriculum development.

Preferred qualifications (optional):

• Experience preparing students for WAEC, NECO, IGCSE, or other standardized exams.
• Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technology in education.
• Strong interest in extracurricular activities like debate clubs, writing workshops, or drama.
