Job Summary

• The organization is seeking a visionary and execution driven Design Lead with the ability to conceptualize innovative fashion ideas and oversee the creative process, manage a team of designers and ensure that all collections align with the brand’s vision and strategic objectives.
• This role will report directly to the Creative Director and involves coordinating design activities, fostering innovation, and guiding the design team to produce high-quality, market-relevant garments that meet it’s production standards.

Key Responsibilities
Creative Direction and Planning:

• Collaborate with the Creative Director to develop seasonal themes and actionable design briefs.
• Plan and develop product ranges while ensuring alignment with current fashion trends.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Manage and mentor a team of designers, technical designers, and pattern makers ensuring professional growth and skill enhancement.
• Foster a collaborative environment while ensuring task delegation and quality control and adherence to deadlines.

Design Execution and Oversight:

• Supervise sketch creation, tech packs, and fabric/trim selection to maintain quality and brand consistency.
• Collaborate with pattern makers to translate concepts into production-ready designs.
• Conduct design reviews to assess accuracy, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.

Production Coordination:

• Coordinate with production and merchandising teams to ensure design feasibility and cost efficiency.
• Manage prototyping, fit sessions, and troubleshoot production issues effectively.

Trend and Market Analysis:

• Conduct research on global fashion trends, competitor activity and consumer preferences to inform design strategies.
• Regularly update the team on emerging styles, materials, and techniques.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Maintain high design standards and ensure garments meet brand quality benchmarks.
• Implement continuous improvement through feedback and quality control practices.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fashion design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role in garment manufacturing or retail fashion industry.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design leadership and trend relevance while driving productivity.
• Technical Expertise and Proficiency in fashion design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CLO 3D), garment construction, and fabric knowledge.
• Project Management: Skilled in prioritizing tasks and managing timelines in a fast-paced environment.
• Deep understanding of fashion trends and consumer behavior.
• Excellent verbal and written skills to convey creative ideas and provide constructive feedback.
