As a Logistics and Delivery Officer, you will be responsible for executing daily delivery tasks and ensuring efficient transportation of resources to various locations, including warehouses and field sites.
Your main focus will be on timely and accurate delivery execution, resolving operational challenges as they arise, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
You will collaborate with transporters and internal teams to ensure smooth operations, requiring some guidance and support from your manager for complex situations.
Key job responsibilities
Daily delivery execution
Plan and execute daily delivery schedules in coordination with transporters and warehouse staff.
Track delivery performance and report any discrepancies to your manager.
Ensure all deliveries are executed on time and within agreed parameters.
Communicate delivery updates to relevant stakeholders.
Cost Management and Compliance
Monitor and report delivery costs, suggesting improvements when possible.
Ensure transporters adhere to predefined routes and pricing agreements.
Support in managing payments to transporters by receiving and reporting invoices
Improvement Initiatives
Support the team in identifying areas of improvement in delivery efficiency.
Participate in feedback collection and process reviews to enhance performance.
Work with cross-functional teams to address routine delivery challenges.
Qualifications and Required Skills
1-2 years experience in logistics operations, including managing inventory, and warehouse operations.
Diploma or a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in the supply chain, economics, business administration, or related fields from recognized institutions with a Nysc certificate or Discharge letter.
Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency in email, internet usage, Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and Google Suite for data analysis, presentation, and report writing.
Proactive in identifying issues within the logistics process and finding effective solutions.
