We're looking for a Data Engineering Lead to build and scale the data infrastructure that powers decision-making across Chowdeck.
As our Data Engineering Lead, you'll be responsible for designing the systems that collect, transform, store, and serve data across the business. From Operations and Finance to Product and Growth, you'll ensure teams have access to reliable, timely, and actionable data that helps them make better decisions.
This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership. You'll define standards, shape our data architecture, and work closely with stakeholders across the company to solve complex business problems through data.
We're looking for someone who enjoys building systems from the ground up, thrives in fast-moving environments, and can balance long-term technical thinking with practical execution.
In this role, you'll be required to:
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows that support business-critical operations.
Own and evolve Chowdeck's data warehouse architecture and data models.
Establish best practices for data engineering, data quality, observability, and governance.
Build systems that enable self-service reporting and analytics across teams.
Develop monitoring and validation frameworks to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Growth teams to understand and prioritize data requirements.
Improve the accessibility, discoverability, and documentation of datasets across the organization.
Optimize data infrastructure for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
Support forecasting, experimentation, machine learning, and advanced analytics initiatives.
Lead technical decisions relating to data infrastructure, tooling, and architecture.
Mentor and support other engineers working on data-related projects.
Drive continuous improvements to the company's overall data maturity and capabilities.
You're perfect for the role if you:
Have significant experience designing and maintaining modern data platforms and pipelines.
Are highly proficient in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python.
Have experience building and managing cloud-based data infrastructure and data warehouses.
Can design scalable data models that support both operational and analytical use cases.
Have a strong understanding of data governance, quality assurance, and security principles.
Can translate business problems into practical data solutions.
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Have experience leading projects and influencing technical decisions across teams.
Are highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with ambiguity.
