Job Description

As a Custom Agent at ITH Trading Partner, you will be responsible for facilitating smooth and efficient customs clearance processes for our clients' shipments. You will serve as a liaison between our clients, government agencies, and transportation providers to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of customs procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee the customs clearance process for import and export shipments.
• Prepare and submit customs documentation, including import/export declarations, invoices, and other required paperwork.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations and requirements, including tariff classifications, duty rates, and trade agreements.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on the status of their shipments.
• Liaise with government agencies, such as customs authorities and border control, to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
• Collaborate with transportation providers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to expedite customs clearance and delivery.
• Stay informed about changes to customs regulations and industry trends, and advise clients accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of customs transactions and documentation for audit purposes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, international trade, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in customs brokerage or international logistics.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff schedules, and trade compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in using customs clearance software and online portals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
• Certification as a Customs Broker (preferred).
