Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our construction team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for operating cranes to lift, move, position, and place construction materials, equipment, and heavy loads safely and efficiently while complying with all operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate mobile, crawler, tower, or truck-mounted cranes safely and efficiently on construction sites.
• Lift, move, position, and place heavy materials, equipment, and structural components according to lifting plans.
• Conduct daily pre-operational inspections of the crane and associated lifting equipment.
• Ensure crane operations comply with manufacturer's specifications and site safety procedures.
• Work closely with lifting supervisors, riggers, signalers, and site engineers during lifting operations.
• Interpret load charts and determine safe lifting capacities based on operating conditions.
• Monitor weather and ground conditions to ensure safe crane operations.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and promptly report mechanical defects or equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate records of crane inspections, maintenance, and daily operations.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and security of the crane and related equipment.
• Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE), Trade Test, or equivalent qualification.
• Valid Crane Operator Certification or Licence recognized by the appropriate regulatory authority.
• Minimum of 5 years' proven experience operating cranes on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of crane operations, load charts, lifting techniques, and safety procedures.
• Ability to inspect lifting gear and identify unsafe operating conditions.
• Good understanding of preventive maintenance requirements for cranes.
• Physically fit and capable of working in demanding site environments.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• High level of discipline, reliability, and attention to safety.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience operating multiple types of cranes (mobile, crawler, tower, or truck-mounted).
• Certification in lifting operations, rigging, or occupational health and safety is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of construction site logistics and heavy lifting operations.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
