    Compliance Officer

    Responsibilities

    Compliance Program Development:

    • Design and implement a comprehensive compliance program tailored to organizational needs.
    • Develop policies and procedures in line with applicable laws and regulations.

    Risk Assessment:

    • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify compliance risks.
    • Analyze regulatory changes and their potential impact on operations.

    Monitoring and Auditing:

    • Perform audits of business units to evaluate compliance with internal policies.
    • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and recommend corrective actions.

    Training and Education:

    • Develop training programs for employees on compliance-related topics.
    • Create educational materials to enhance awareness of compliance issues.

    Reporting:

    • Prepare reports for senior management on compliance activities and risks.
    • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies during inspections.

    Collaboration:

    • Work with legal counsel to align compliance initiatives with legal requirements.
    • Collaborate with various departments to foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
    • Act as a liaison between management and regulatory bodies to ensure effective communication regarding compliance issues.

    Job competencies and capabilities

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance or risk management roles.
    • Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g., Anti-Money Laundering, GDPR).
    • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP)) is highly desirable.

    Competencies and Capabilities:

    • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them effectively.
    • Risk Management: Proficiency in identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies.
    • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills for effective interaction with employees and regulatory bodies.
    • Leadership Qualities: Ability to lead compliance initiatives and influence organizational culture.
    • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with compliance management software and e-governance tools.
