Clinical Instructors at ECWA College of Nursing Sciences, Egbe

Position Summary

• Clinical Instructors are experienced nurses who oversee the clinical training of nursing students. Successful applicants will work closely with students in healthcare settings to ensure the students are gaining the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their future careers. Clinical Instructors provide feedback, guidance, and support to students as they navigate real-world healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective instruction and assessment during clinical practice trainings of nursing students in the classroom, lab, hospital and community facilities.
• Identify strengths and weaknesses of students while providing a nurturing atmosphere for experiential training and professional growth.
• Arrange clinical placements and provide student orientation to clinical sites and students.
• Support faculty in developing objectives, competencies, and assessments for clinical skills.
• Review student portfolios and tailor activities to enhance learning.
• Monitor student progress to ensure objectives are met.
• Serve as a role model and mentor, sharing knowledge and skills with students.
• Assess student competence, complete evaluations, and communicate progress.
• Facilitate interactions with clinical site management.
• Communicate concerns to appropriate authority about student progress to faculty.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the College Management and Governing Council

Qualifications/Experience

Applicants MUST:

• Possess RM/RN
• First degree in Nursing Science (BNSC) will be an added advantage
• Be registered and licensed to practice by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
• Applicants should possess a minimum of 3 years of experience or demonstrated related experience.
• Excellent communication, pedagogical and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students
• A committed Christian who aligns with the values of ECWA, and be a person with outstanding moral character, and integrity, and uphold Governing Documents, ECWA Constitution and Byelaws.
