We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Chief Pharmacist to provide strategic leadership for our hospital pharmacy services.
As a key member of the senior clinical team, you will oversee pharmacy operations, ensure safe and efficient fulfillment of patient prescriptions, and drive continuous improvement in medication management systems.
Key Strategic Responsibilities
Lead the overall pharmaceutical strategy of the hospital, ensuring alignment with clinical goals, regulatory standards, and patient safety priorities.
Oversee and optimize the end-to-end fulfillment of patient prescriptions—from order verification to timely, accurate dispensing—ensuring excellence in service delivery and patient care.
Manage and mentor a large pharmacy team comprising pharmacists, technicians, and support staff; foster a culture of accountability, professional growth, and collaboration.
Oversee pharmacy supply chain management— Work with the BU Lead to optimizeprocurement, inventory control, and vendor relationships—to ensure availability of critical medicines and minimize wastage.
Serve as a key advisor to hospital leadership, providing expertise on pharmaceutical care, regulatory compliance, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.
Monitor and report on pharmacy performance metrics, ensuring adherence to national standards and internal KPIs related to patient safety, medication errors, turnaround time, and cost management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (BPharm or PharmD); a Master’s or MBA in Healthcare Management is an added advantage.
Valid license to practice as a pharmacist in [Insert Country/State].
Minimum of 5years’ experience in pharmacy practice, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role within a hospital or healthcare system.
Strong strategic thinking, operational management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
In-depth knowledge of hospital pharmacy standards, clinical governance, and healthcare regulations.
