The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, planning, and management of the company's agricultural operations. The CFO will ensure financial sustainability, optimise profitability, and support the company’s growth by implementing best financial practices and risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s short-term and long-term objectives.
Oversee the preparation and management of budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
Identify financial risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure proper internal controls are in place.
Manage capital structure, liaise with investors, financial institutions, and funding partners to secure financing.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive financial efficiency across operations.
Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, tax requirements, and corporate governance policies.
Engage with senior management, board members, and external stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Oversee the implementation of financial technology solutions to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Monitor commodity pricing, input costs, and market trends to drive profitability and sustainability.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field. (MBA is an advantage).
Professional certification such as FCA or FCCA is required.
CFA is an advantage
Minimum of 10 years of financial leadership experience, preferably within the agricultural, agribusiness, or FMCG sectors.
Strong understanding of agricultural financing, supply chain management, and agribusiness economics.
Proven track record in strategic financial planning, fundraising, and cost management.
Experience working with regulatory bodies and ensuring financial compliance.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
