Job Summary

• The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring fiscal sustainability, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning.
• In a digital banking environment, the CFO plays a critical role in driving financial innovation, managing fintech-related risks, and supporting the organization’s growth objectives while maintaining sound financial governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, reporting, and investment strategy.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with CBN and other regulatory standards.
• Drive fintech innovation and manage financial risks.
• Lead capital planning and investor relations.
• Guide and develop a high performing finance team.
• Deliver financial insights to support strategic decisions.
• Oversee audits and ensure timely resolution of findings.
• Manage liquidity, cash flow, and working capital efficiency.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key financial institutions.
• Ensure tax planning and compliance with relevant laws.
• Establish financial policies, systems, and frameworks to support growth.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Timely submission of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Budget variance maintained within ±5% of approved figures.
• Zero non-compliance issues in CBN, tax, or statutory audits.
• Achievement of set liquidity and working capital targets each quarter.
• Successful capital raising or funding initiatives as approved by the board.
• 100% completion of annual audit within regulatory timelines.
• Timely implementation of at least two fintech-driven financial process improvements annually.
• Measurable growth in investor and stakeholder satisfaction scores year-on-year.

Requirements

• BSc in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance is preferred).
• CIBN, ACA, ACCA, CFA, or CPA certification (mandatory).
• Minimum of 10 years in financial leadership, with at least 5 years in fintech or banking.
• In-depth understanding of CBN regulatory frameworks and digital banking operations.
• Skilled in financial strategy, capital management, and business intelligence tools.
• Analytical, tech-savvy, and results-driven, with the ability to influence and shape management decisions.
