Key Responsibilities

Cash Governance & Reconciliation

• Own daily end-to-end reconciliation of cash, card and other approved payment channels.
• Review shortages, overages, unusual transactions and unresolved variances and ensure investigation and closure.
• Maintain strong room/cash office controls and ensure cash is secured, transferred and banked according to policy.
• Ensure ERP and checkout records are complete, accurate and current.

Front-End Control & Assurance

• Oversee adherence to refund, void, discount, price override, cash pickup and deposit controls.
• Conduct periodic spot checks and control reviews across checkout points.
• Coordinate resolution of POS/payment issues with IT and Finance.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and evidence of key controls.

Supervision & Capability

• Lead and coach Cashier Supervisors and ensure consistent front-end standards.
• Review cashier productivity, accuracy, attendance and control performance.
• Ensure training and refresher coaching are completed for cash handling, fraud prevention, POS and customer service.

Customer & Operational Escalations

• Resolve significant payment, refund and checkout escalations.
• Ensure front-end coverage and service continuity during peak periods.
• Work with Store Manager and relevant functions to address recurring root causes.

Reporting, Risk & Continuous Improvement

• Submit accurate daily/weekly/monthly cash and exception reports.
• Analyse cash discrepancies and identify control weaknesses or fraud risks.
• Drive corrective actions to closure and recommend process improvements that reduce loss and improve transaction efficiency.
