    Chauffeur/Administrative Clerk

    Summary:

    The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Chauffeur/Administrative Clerk position in the Regional Affairs Office. The U.S. Mission in Nigeria supports Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA).     Duties

    • Incumbent serves as a the main POC for RAO travel schedules. Responsible for the safe and efficient transport of RAO personnel to include VIPs, TDYers and delegates to and from airport and to various high level meetings in Lagos and Abuja. Perform basic maintenance on vehicles while keeping vehicles clean both inside and out.
    • Serve as Primary cash custodian, draft procurement plans, make local purchases and keep record of inventory.

    Education Requirements: Completion of secondary school is required. 

    Experience: Minimum of three (3) years experience in performing Chauffeur/Administrative duties with basic proficiency in time management and cash handling is required. 

    Job Knowledge: 

    • Knowledge of the Consulate is required. Good working knowledge of proper etiquette for the host country is required for all communication outside the mission is required.
    • Must have a great geographical knowledge of Lagos, other Nigerian cities and neighboring countries.
    • Must have a good working knowledge of automobile vehicle operations and safety.
    • Must be able to read and understand documents, write clearly and communicate on the phone or by radio when necessary.
    • Must be able to coordinate travel of officers on short notice. Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs, basic bookkeeping practices and time management. Must be able to coordinate travel of officers on short notice.
