    Business Development Manager

    Job description

    • The Business Development Manager (BDM) for KongaPay will be responsible for driving strategic partnerships, market expansion, and revenue growth. This role requires a proactive and results-driven professional with a strong understanding of the fintech landscape, digital payments, and e-commerce ecosystems. The BDM will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify new business opportunities, negotiate partnerships, and ensure sustainable growth.

    Business Development & Strategy:

    • Identify, develop, and execute strategic partnerships that drive user acquisition, transaction volume, and revenue growth.
    • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and business opportunities.
    • Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with KongaPay’s growth objectives.
    • Drive customer and merchant adoption of KongaPay by promoting its value proposition.

    Partnership & Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, payment processors, merchants, and other key stakeholders.
    • Negotiate and structure deals that maximize mutual benefits for KongaPay and its partners.
    • Represent KongaPay at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility.

    Sales & Revenue Generation:

    • Work closely with the sales team to onboard merchants and expand the KongaPay user base.
    • Develop pricing models, sales pitches, and business proposals to attract and retain partners.
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize revenue streams.

    Product & Market Expansion:

    • Collaborate with product, marketing, and technical teams to enhance KongaPay’s offerings.
    • Provide feedback on user experience and market demands to drive product innovation.
    • Explore opportunities for geographic and sectoral expansion of KongaPay’s services.

    Compliance & Risk Management:

    • Ensure business development activities comply with regulatory and compliance standards.
    • Work with legal and compliance teams to structure agreements that mitigate risk while maximizing business opportunities.
    • Stay up-to-date on fintech regulations, payment policies, and industry best practices.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or relevant certification is an added advantage.
    • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within the fintech, payments, or e-commerce sectors.
    • Strong understanding of digital payments, mobile money, and financial technology.
    • Proven track record of developing successful partnerships and driving revenue growth.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change, and meet targets.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and market research tools to drive informed decision-making.
