Bursar at Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB)

The Position

• The University Bursar is a Principal Officer and, in accordance with the University Act, the Chief Finance Officer of the University.
• He is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should possess a good Honours Degree (Minimum of Second Class, Lower Division) in Accounting from a recognized University. Possession of a higher degree in a relevant field would be an advantage. Candidates should also possess a professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, ACNA or any other equivalent qualification with a minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant post-qualification experience, five (5) of which must be as a Deputy Bursar in the University system by the end of July 2023.
• The right candidate should also have the ability to develop linkages with the external communities to support the needs of the University, command respect and engender the co- operation and loyalty of staff and students of the Institution
• Candidates must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of accounting packages Candidate must not be above Sixty (60) years on assumption of duty

Terms and Condition of Service

• The University Bursar shall hold office for a single term of Five (5) years only on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.

Remuneration

• Remuneration and other conditions of services are as applicable to the post of Bursar in all Nigerian Federal Universities and as may be determined by the Governing Council of the University, as appropriate.
• Fringe benefits include a Pension in consonance with the Contributory Pension Scheme and appropriate allowances as may be approved from time to time by the Governing Council.
