Baker at Pinnah Foods

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked products in line with established standards
• Develop and standardise recipes, production methods, and portion sizes to ensure consistency
• Create and test new pastry products and menu offerings
• Accurately calculate recipe costs, yields, portions, and selling prices
• Monitor the quality, taste, presentation, and consistency of all pastry products
• Manage pastry production to meet daily operational and outlet demands
• Minimise wastage and ensure effective utilisation of ingredients and resources
• Maintain proper food storage, handling, and production practices
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards
• Train, supervise, and mentor pastry team members and junior chefs
• Maintain proper documentation of recipes, production processes, and costing
• Monitor inventory and communicate ingredient requirements to ensure uninterrupted production
• Identify opportunities to improve product quality, efficiency, and profitability

Requirements & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of pastry production, baking techniques, and food preparation
• Experience working in a commercial bakery, restaurant, hotel, or QSR environment
• Good understanding of recipe development, costing, portion control, and yield management
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency
• Good leadership and team management skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
