Baker (Grocery Retail Chain) at Dunn & Braxton

The ideal candidate for this role must be familiar with baking and catering best practices as well as suggest viable product ideas.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a variety of high-quality bread, pastries, and cakes following established recipes and production schedules.
• Monitor oven temperatures, adjust baking times, and ensure consistent quality of baked products.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the baking area and manage ingredient inventory.
• Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as commercial ovens, deep-fat fryers and rotisserie ovens.
• Collaborate with the team to create new recipes and meet customer demands.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and assist in training new baking staff.

Requirements

• Minimum of a First degree in any relevant field
• Relevant culinary or baking qualifications are a plus
• 2-5 years of proven experience as a baker with knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills and a team player mindset.
• Creativity and willingness to experiment with new flavors.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
