    Associate, Monitoring & Evaluation

    Industry: Technology

    Role Purpose

    • The MEL Associate will play a critical role in leading planning, data collection and implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools that support MEL at an organizational and programmatic level.
    • As MEL systems and practices at Babban Gona are in their early stages, you will be developing, implementing and raising awareness of MEL processes and procedures that can support Babban Gona to better measure their outcomes and impact.
    • The MEL Associate role will be focused on standardization and data management that showcases patterns, trends, and impact of program and organizational impact over time.
    • The MEL Associate will work in concert with Corporate Finance, Business intelligence and program staff to support MEL needs and reporting.
    • Support the finalization and implementation of an Organizational Impact framework and Theory of Change
    • Work with executive management and key business stakeholders to finalise the organizational theory of change and an impact monitoring framework that supports the systematic collection of impact evidence for Babban Gona’s business model.

    MEL Strategy:

    • Contribute to the development and implementation of a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) strategy for Babban Gona.
    • Work closely with Business Intelligence to standardize the planning and implementation of MEL activities across the business.

    MEL Operations:

    • Contribute to the technical design of M&E methodologies, tools and practices.
    • Contribute to data collection, storage, analysis and reporting of outcome and impact data.
    • Work with Program and Corporate finance staff to ensure M&E tools and processes are understood and used.
    • Provide advice to staff and stakeholders on M&E decisions, such as the identification of priorities, needs and indicators; the design, set up and use of M&E systems to collect data; and the design of program evaluations.
    • Identify opportunities to provide and present E&L findings and data to colleagues to contribute to decision-making and strategic planning processes in Babban Gona projects, as appropriate.
    • Be the primary MEL contact and lead for grant and investor contracts.
    • Lead the ongoing implementation and analysis of the Babban Gona Well-Being Survey.

    Requirements

    • Experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Role.
    • 3-5 years’ experience in similar or comparable role.
    • Experience producing M&E plans, Impact frameworks, theories of change, logic models, surveys, and other frameworks.
    • Expertise analyzing data using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods.
    • Experience in data analytics, data visualization, and the manipulation of data sets.

    Selection Criteria

    • Demonstrated ability to lead the design, development and implementation of M&E tools, systems and processes
    • Proven experience in identifying and setting monitoring indicators, tracking indicators, data collection techniques and statistical or data analysis;
    • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills in evaluation, visualization, planning and design of MEL management systems;
    • Demonstrate excellent skills in technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations;
    • Able to work under pressure with minimum supervision
    • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Excess, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Adobe, or other desktop publishing software including MEL specific software applications;
    • Excellent conceptual, oral and written communication skills;
    • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, support strategy implementation and associated plans
    • Strong organizational leadership skills to navigate ambiguity and work horizontally to positively promote your strategic agenda.

    Desirable Experience:

    • Project management certification
    • Working knowledge of PowerBI.
