Conducting in-house Tax Audits: Examine financial documents, tax returns, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Analyzing Financial Data: Identify discrepancies and potential non-compliance issues by analyzing financial data, including income statements, receipts, and bank statements.
Preparing Audit Reports: Document findings and prepare reports detailing audit results, recommendations, and corrective actions monthly.
Tax Planning and Strategy: Assist in developing tax strategies and providing recommendations to improve financial practices and prevent tax discrepancies.
Collaboration and Communication: Work with various departments to gather necessary documentation, resolve issues, and communicate audit findings and recommendations
Staying Updated on Tax Laws: Maintain knowledge of current tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure audits are conducted accurately and efficiently.
Mentoring and Training: Assist in training junior staff members on tax-related best practices, compliance measures, and audit procedures.
Representing the Company: Serve as a point of contact for tax authorities during audits, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Member of relevant professional bodies like ICAN, CITN etc. is an added advantage.
Experience: Identify 2-3 years of experience in tax auditing or a similar role, with knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance practices.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
