Assistant Chief Security Officer at Mulligan Hotel

Job Purpose

• To assist the Chief Security Officer in maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly environment for guests, employees, hotel property, and assets.
• The role involves supervising security personnel, monitoring security operations, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with the hotel’s security policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Security Officer in the effective coordination and supervision of the hotel security team.
• Supervise security officers during assigned shifts and ensure adequate coverage of all designated areas.
• Monitor the safety and security of guests, employees, visitors, hotel premises, equipment, and property.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the hotel premises, entrances, exits, parking areas, back-of-house areas, and other vulnerable points.
• Monitor CCTV surveillance and report suspicious activities or security concerns promptly.
• Ensure proper control of access to restricted areas and prevent unauthorized entry.
• Respond promptly to incidents including theft, disturbances, accidents, emergencies, and other security-related situations.
• Prepare and maintain accurate incident, occurrence, patrol, and security reports.
• Assist in investigating security incidents and provide relevant findings to management.
• Ensure proper handling and documentation of lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Assist in enforcing hotel policies relating to staff, visitors, contractors, and guests.
• Monitor staff entrances, deliveries, and movement of goods where required.
• Support emergency response procedures, including fire, evacuation, medical emergencies, and other incidents.
• Liaise with the Chief Security Officer and relevant hotel departments to address security concerns.
• Assist in briefing, training, and mentoring security officers on hotel security procedures and standards.
• Monitor the discipline, punctuality, appearance, and performance of security personnel.
• Ensure security equipment, communication devices, access-control systems, and other security tools are properly maintained and functional.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive security information and hotel operations.
• Assist with the preparation of security schedules and deployment plans.
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• B.Sc Degree / HND / advanced Diploma in Security Operations and Management, Philosophy, Psychology,Sociology, Criminology or related disciplines with a minimum of 5 years work experience, 2 years as Head of unit.
• Relevant experience in hotel security, hospitality, corporate security, or a similar environment.
• Previous supervisory experience is required.
• Good knowledge of security procedures, access control, emergency response, and incident management.
• Ability to operate or supervise CCTV and other security monitoring systems.
• Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or difficult situations.
• Good leadership, coordination, and team-management skills.
• High level of integrity, alertness, discipline, and confidentiality.
• Physical fitness and ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
