Project Architect

We are looking for a creative and inspired architect to handle projects from the initial client briefing through to the final stages of construction. The architect's responsibilities include managing client relationships, developing and presenting design proposals, preparing drawings, specifications, budgets, construction documents, and managing project teams. You should be able to take ownership of your project, be it the design and construction of a new building, an extension, alterations or a restoration project, and deliver on the client's requirements.

To be successful in this position you should be able to visualize space in three dimensions, have a good understanding of construction technologies, and be an effective project manager. An outstanding Architect will have strong interpersonal skills, demonstrate superior technical design skills and be able to create designs that are functional, creative, and sustainable.

Job Description

The Architect will oversee the plan and design, and/or facilitate the execution of new building designs, and plan, design and/or facilitate the execution of building expansions or renovations according to client’s needs, desires, and financial resources. The successful candidate will maintain positive professional relationships with all clients & tenants, and executing all administrative tasks to the highest quality standard.

Responsibilities

• Translate programmatic requirements into workable design solutions.

• Illustrate high-quality creative concept designs for medium to large scale projects.

• Carry forward concept and schematic designs through design development and construction documentation.

• Reviewing and editing specifications with vendor coordination.

• Coordinate with multiple disciplines and consultants and integrate their engineering systems into the overall design of the projects.

• Conduct thorough code and ADA accessibility reviews for ongoing projects.

• Coordinate with vendors for the appropriate citation of materials and assemblies into the specifications and drawings.

• Assist in scheduling, project management, and architectural data management. 

• Complying with safety standards and local planning regulations.

• Determining and adhering to budgets and timelines.

• Managing project teams and collaborating with other construction professionals.

• Possess working knowledge of Revit, MicroStation (or AutoCAD), 3D modeling /Rendering software, Sketch Up, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office products.

• Ensure compliance with the company’s quality assurance policies and project delivery procedures.

• Mentor Junior architects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or related field. 

• 5+ years’ experience working on medium to large scale projects including a variety of project types (Residential, Mixed-Use, Commercial, Master planning, Workplace design, etc.).

• Professional Certification (or in the process or obtaining). 

• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Ability to problem-solve and make decisions.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of International Building Code, ADA Accessibility Guidelines, Building Systems, and Construction Technologies.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

• Must be a team player in a highly collaborative work environment.

• Must have worked as an architect in a real estate development company

LOCATION: THE PREFERRED CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO START WORK IMMEDIATELY IN ZARIA, KADUNA STATE AND BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO ANY OF THE OTHER PROJECT LOCATIONS OF THE COMPANY INCLUDING ABUJA AND ILORIN, KWARA STATE.
