    Agribusiness & VSLA Officer

    Supervisor: Livelihood Manager

    Location: Maiduguri, Gwoza and Ngala in Borno State.

    Slots: 1 per location

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitoring and Supervision of Community Based Trainers (CBT).
    • Activity and progress reporting to Livelihoods Manager.
    • Work with the Livelihoods Manager to prepare Work Plans (Weekly, Monthly & Annual).
    • Management/supervision of MIS information flows to Field agent.
    • Mobilization and awareness raising with local leadership and Community Groups.
    • Training Associations in the implementation of VS&L and Agribusiness Project.
    • Village Saving &LA data gathering and Association monitoring.
    • Provide Gender Related and Skill Building Trainings to VSL.

    Required Qualifications

    • Respected by local people and leaders and known to be conscientious

    • Proven Facilitation Skills

    Experience

    • At least 2years experience in implementing VSLA Activities and Agribusiness related activities.
    • Experienced in facilitation on VSLAs, Business Management and Business Plan Development for Agropreneurs and other Income Generation Activities.
    • Experience in setting-up and managing cooperatives and enterprises working with various Private & Government owned Micro-Finance Institutions.
    • Exposure to Gender Training Covering Basics
    • Some knowledge of basic Gender Concepts, CARE’s Women Empowerment Framework and Gender Transformative Approaches
    • Experienced facilitator/trainer
    • Detailed and well oriented

    Skills:

    • Good Facilitation skills.
    • Excellent community mobilization/ sensitization and communication skills.
    • Ability to deal well with a diverse population.
    • Ability to maintain accurate records.
    • Cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with clients and co-workers.
    •  Ability to work closely with other employees to ensure positive, constructive environment within the program or department, and throughout the organization.
    •  Ability to thrive in a flexible, fast-paced and growth-oriented environment, while maintaining a sense of humor and a positive, solution-oriented approach.
    • Passion and enthusiasm for the mission of CARE International.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
    • Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
