Accountant at Smartcity Plc

Job Summary:

• We're seeking an experienced and skilled Accountant to join our finance team.
• As a mid-level Accountant, you'll be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and review financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow).
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly/quarterly/annual closings.
• Develop and maintain financial reporting templates.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
• Analyze financial performance against budget.
• Provide variance analysis and recommendations.

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Develop and maintain financial models.
• Identify areas for cost savings and process improvements

Compliance and Governance:

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records.
• Assist with internal/external audits.

Other Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with finance team members.
• Provide financial guidance to non-finance stakeholders.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives.

Requirements:

Essential:

• 5-7 years of experience in accounting.
• Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
• Proficient in financial software (ERP systems, Excel).

Desirable:

• Experience with budgeting and forecasting tools.
• Familiarity with financial planning and analysis.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Experience in a similar industry.
