Position Overview:

An Accountant is a professional responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The role of an Accountant is crucial in maintaining the financial health and integrity of an organization. They work closely with the finance team, management, and external stakeholders to provide accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and other financial transactions.
• Prepare regular financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial documents, to provide a clear overview of the organization's financial position.
• Collaborate with management to develop budgets and forecasts for the upcoming periods based on historical financial data and market trends.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations by preparing and filing accurate tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other applicable taxes.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and procedures.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Conduct periodic reconciliations of financial accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial records.
• Process payroll and ensure accurate deductions, withholding taxes, and timely payment to employees.
• Stay updated with changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws to ensure the organization's adherence to these requirements.
• Utilize accounting software and financial management systems effectively to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and advise management on strategies to optimize expenses.
• Assist in financial planning activities, including capital budgeting, investment analysis, and financial modeling.

Qualifications and Skills:

• BSC in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is a plus.
• Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and best practices.
