Accountant at Elvaridah

Job Summary 

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage the financial operations of our hospitality business. 
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting tasks, preparing financial reports, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. 
• This role requires a deep understanding of accounting practices within the hospitality sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and maintain daily financial transactions including sales, expenses, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
• Oversee inventory and cost control processes to ensure proper tracking and valuation
• Monitor budgets, cash flow, and expenditures
• Process payroll and ensure timely tax remittances (e.g., VAT, PAYE, WHT)
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls
• Assist in financial planning and analysis to support business decisions
• Provide financial insights to management for strategic planning

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience (preferably in hospitality)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, hospitality cost control, and inventory systems
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Zoho Books)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Experience with POS integration and hospitality reporting tools
• Familiarity with Nigerian tax laws and statutory reporting
