Accountant/ Cashier at Halogen Group

We are looking for an Accountant/ Cashier to manage all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently at a Lounge located in Ewet Housing Estate, Akwa Ibom Uyo State.

As a Cashier, your responsibilities will include receiving payments, issuing receipts, and keeping track of all cash and credit transactions. To excel in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position and a solid understanding of how cash registers operate. Availability for occasional evening and weekend shifts is also necessary.

Ultimately, you will ensure all transactions run smoothly and help us maximize customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:

• Handle transactions with customers using cash registers
• Scan goods and ensure pricing accuracy
• Collect payments in cash or credit
• Issue receipts, refunds, change, or tickets
• Redeem stamps and coupons
• Cross-sell products and introduce new items
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
• Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
• Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
• Bag, box, or gift-wrap packages
• Handle merchandise returns and exchanges

Job Requirements and Skills:

• Minimum Degree in B.sc or in any relevant field of study 
• Work experience as a Retail Cashier or similar role in sales
• Basic Office tool knowledge such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc
• Familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash registers and POS systems
• Good math skills
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Customer satisfaction-oriented
